TV Mounting in Manhattan, We Come to You

Manhattan is the most varied borough in the city when it comes to wall types and building requirements — and we’ve worked in all of them. Whether you’re in a pre-war co-op on the Upper West Side, a concrete luxury tower in Midtown, or a converted loft in Tribeca, we bring the right hardware for your specific wall and mount your TV at the right height for the way you actually watch it. One flat rate, fully insured, same-day and next-day availability across the whole island.

Every Manhattan Building Is Different. We’ve Seen Them All.

No two Manhattan apartments have the same walls, and that matters more than most people realize when it comes to TV mounting. Using the wrong technique or anchors for your wall type can crack plaster, pull out of masonry, or leave you with a mount that isn’t truly secure. We assess the wall before we drill — every time.

Plaster walls are the norm in pre-war Manhattan buildings, which covers most of the housing stock above 59th Street and throughout the Village neighborhoods downtown. Plaster over wood lath looks like drywall but behaves completely differently — stud finders often misread it, the material is denser and more brittle, and a standard drywall installation can crack the surface or fail under the weight of a TV. We use the correct anchors and technique for plaster on every pre-war job.

Concrete walls are common in Midtown high-rises, newer luxury towers throughout the city, and in loft buildings in Tribeca and SoHo. Concrete requires masonry anchors and a hammer drill — we carry both and have done hundreds of concrete installs across Manhattan.

Brick walls — exposed brick in lofts, brick party walls in brownstones, brick exterior walls — require the same masonry approach. This comes up often in West Village and SoHo lofts as well as older tenement buildings throughout the Lower East Side and East Village.

A/C installations in older Manhattan buildings deserve specific attention. Pre-war buildings typically have plaster or brick surrounding window openings — a window unit or through-wall A/C install has to be anchored into that masonry correctly. A unit that isn’t properly bracketed into the surrounding wall is a safety issue and often a co-op violation. We handle the full bracket setup and anchoring, not just the placement of the unit.

What We Check Before We Drill — Every Time

Manhattan high-rises and pre-war conversions often have walls that are significantly thinner than standard — interior partitions in older buildings can be a fraction of what you’d find in newer construction. We check for this before we drill. Thin walls need specific anchor types and careful placement to hold securely without going through to the other side. It’s not something you can guess at.

Luxury building management is part of the job. We’re experienced working with demanding buildings — doormen, concierge staff, super sign-off requirements, service elevator scheduling, no-damage policies, and same-day COI requests. The white-glove buildings on Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park West have exacting standards. We meet them. We don’t make the building management situation the client’s problem to sort out.

We map before we drill. Before anything goes into the wall, we work out exactly where the mount, cables, and any wall penetrations will go. We check for pipes, electrical runs, and structural quirks specific to the building type. Pre-war buildings in particular can have plumbing and conduit in unexpected places. No surprises, no guessing — we know what’s behind the wall before we touch it.

We Work in Every Manhattan Building, Including the Strict Ones

Manhattan has the highest concentration of co-op buildings in the country, and most of them — especially the white-glove buildings on Park Avenue, Riverside Drive, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park West — require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the building or management company as an additional insured before any contractor can start work. We’re fully insured and provide COIs on request. Email your building’s requirements to isaac@pictureperfectmounting.com and we’ll turn it around quickly.

We know the protocols: checking in with the doorman, using the service elevator when required, protecting floors and walls during the job, and keeping the work area clean throughout. We’ve worked in enough Manhattan buildings to know that building staff and management notice how contractors conduct themselves — we take that seriously.

Common Questions from Manhattan Customers

My building requires a COI — how quickly can you get one to me?

We can provide a Certificate of Insurance naming your building or management company as an additional insured, usually within 24 hours. Email your building’s specific requirements to isaac@pictureperfectmounting.com when you book.

My walls are plaster. Will the TV mount be secure?

Yes. Plaster walls are the standard in pre-war Manhattan apartments and we install into them every day. We use anchors and techniques designed specifically for plaster — the result is solid and won’t damage the surrounding wall surface.

Can you mount into concrete or brick?

Absolutely. Concrete walls in high-rises and lofts require masonry anchors and a hammer drill, which we bring to every job. Same for exposed brick. We do concrete and brick installs across Midtown, Tribeca, SoHo, and the Village regularly.

Do you install Samsung Frame TVs?

Yes, and it’s one of our most common requests in Manhattan. We mount the Frame flush to the wall and route all cables so nothing is visible — it looks like art on the wall, the way it’s designed to.

Do you use the service entrance?

When your building requires it, yes. We’re familiar with service entrance protocols across Manhattan buildings and follow building rules as a matter of course.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Same-day appointments are often available. Next-day is almost always an option. Book online or reach out directly to check availability.
