What is an art hanging service?

A professional art hanging service handles the planning, hardware selection, and installation of artwork on your walls — from a single framed piece to a full gallery wall. Picture Perfect Mounting provides this service across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, using the correct anchors for every wall type: drywall, plaster, brick, and concrete.

Every art hanging job we take on

  • Single pieces — One frame, one decision: height, centering, and the right anchor for the wall. We get it level on the first try.
  • Gallery walls — We template the layout on the floor, plan the spacing, and transfer it to the wall without the 47-hole approach. One visit, clean result.
  • Oversized and heavy artwork — Large canvases and heavy frames get French cleats or stud-mounted hardware. Nothing that weighs over 30 pounds goes on a drywall anchor alone.
  • Mirrors — Mirrors require specific hardware and sometimes a two-person install. We bring both.
  • Commercial art installations — Office lobbies, hotel rooms, restaurant interiors. We work fast and protect the space.
  • Wall types: drywall, plaster, brick, concrete — Every wall type gets the anchor built for it. Pre-war plaster, poured concrete, and metal-stud drywall all respond differently.

How it works: consult, hang, done

  1. Book a slot — Pick a time online or by phone. Most slots are available same-day or next-day in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
  2. We assess the wall — We check the wall type, find the structure, and confirm the hardware before a single hole goes in.
  3. We hang everything — Artwork goes up level, centered, and secure.
  4. We clean up — Tools, packaging, and anything we brought in goes back out with us.

No damage. Right hardware. Or we fix it.

We protect your floors, your walls, and your art. If we cause a mark that wasn’t there before we arrived, we fix it at no charge. We use hardware rated for the weight of the piece on the wall type it’s going into. For white-glove building requirements in Manhattan co-ops and luxury condos, we know the protocols: floor protection, COI documentation, and building sign-in handled before we start.

What people ask before they book

What’s the difference between an art hanging service and doing it myself?

The main differences are speed, hardware, and hole count. A professional art hanging service brings the right anchors for your wall type, gets the height right the first time, and doesn’t leave you with test holes. For gallery walls and heavy pieces, it also means the work stays up.

How much does picture hanging service cost in NYC?

Most residential installs run between $100 and $300 depending on the number of pieces. Commercial installs are quoted per project. See full pricing at /pricing.

Can you hang art on plaster walls?

Yes. Pre-war plaster is a regular part of our work in Manhattan and Brooklyn brownstones. Plaster requires different anchors than drywall — we bring both and choose based on what we find.

Do you serve Brooklyn and Queens?

Yes. We cover all of Manhattan, most of Brooklyn (Park Slope, Williamsburg, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Dumbo, Crown Heights), and western Queens (Astoria, Long Island City).
