Terms of Service
These terms apply whenever you request a quote, book an appointment, or receive services from Picture Perfect Mounting (“PPM,” “we,” “us”). By booking with us you agree to them. They’re written to be read, not just scrolled past, so please take a minute with them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
Our services
We provide professional installation services in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including TV mounting, art and gallery wall hanging, mirrors, shelving, curtains and blinds, air conditioner installation, furniture assembly, and furniture anchoring. The specific work for your job is described in your quote or booking confirmation. Anything not listed there is outside the scope of the appointment unless we agree to add it, which we’re usually happy to do on site at our standard rates.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are based on the information you give us when booking, including photos, measurements, wall type, and item details. If conditions on site differ from what was described, such as a concrete or plaster wall where we expected drywall, a larger or heavier item, or additional pieces to hang, we’ll explain the difference and confirm any change in price with you before proceeding. You’re never charged for work you haven’t approved. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Booking, rescheduling, and cancellation
Your appointment is confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation from us by text or email. Life in New York moves fast, so we’re flexible with rescheduling; we just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice, or situations where we arrive and can’t perform the work (no one home, no building access, items not on site), may be charged a $75 trip fee. If we need to reschedule due to weather, illness, or an emergency, we’ll let you know as early as possible and there is never a fee to you.
Arrival windows
We schedule appointments in arrival windows rather than exact times because traffic, building check-ins, and the job before yours can all shift a schedule. We’ll text you when we’re on the way. Please have someone 18 or older available to let us in, walk us through the job, and approve the placement before we drill.
Getting ready for your appointment
To keep your appointment on schedule, please have all items to be installed on site and unboxed, mounting hardware and brackets available if you’re supplying them, the work area clear of furniture and fragile items, and any building requirements handled in advance. If your building requires a certificate of insurance, elevator reservation, or work permit, let us know when booking so we can provide our COI and plan around it. We’re fully insured and provide COIs at no charge, but we can’t be responsible for delays or missed appointments caused by building approvals that weren’t arranged ahead of time.
Placement and approval
Before we make the first hole, we’ll confirm the height, position, and layout with you. Once you approve placement and we begin drilling, changes that require moving the item are billed as additional work, and we’ll patch the original holes as a courtesy but can’t guarantee a paint match. This is the single most important step in any install, so please be present for it.
Walls, studs, and hidden conditions
We use stud finders, wire detectors, and a lot of experience to locate safe mounting points, and we’ll always tell you if a location isn’t structurally suitable. However, we can’t see inside your walls. We are not responsible for damage to plumbing, electrical, or other utilities that were concealed in an unexpected location and could not be reasonably detected, or for issues arising from pre-existing conditions such as unsound plaster, loose lath, water damage, or walls that don’t meet building code. If we discover a problem, we’ll stop and discuss options with you before continuing.
Customer-supplied items and hardware
We install the TVs, art, mirrors, furniture, and fixtures you provide. We’re not responsible for defects in those items or for hardware that ships with them, and we’ll let you know if a supplied bracket or mount isn’t rated for the weight or wall type. In that case we can supply an appropriate mount at cost plus installation. For furniture assembly, we follow the manufacturer’s instructions and can’t be responsible for missing parts, manufacturing defects, or design flaws in the piece itself.
Air conditioner installation
We install window and through-wall units in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and New York City requirements for secure mounting and support. You’re responsible for confirming that your building permits AC installation and for any building-specific rules about brackets, sleeves, or drip trays. We don’t perform electrical work; if your unit requires a dedicated circuit or outlet, that must be handled by a licensed electrician before your appointment.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the work unless your quote states otherwise. We invoice through Jobber and accept major credit and debit cards, and other methods by arrangement. For larger or multi-day projects, we may request a deposit at booking, which is applied to your final invoice. Invoices unpaid after 15 days may incur a late fee of 1.5% per month, and we reserve the right to pause further work on an account until the balance is settled.
Our workmanship guarantee
We stand behind our work. If anything we installed comes loose, shifts, or fails because of our workmanship within one year of the installation, we’ll come back and make it right at no charge. This guarantee covers our installation work, not the items themselves, and doesn’t cover damage from misuse, accidents, alterations by others, changes to the wall, or building settling. To make a claim, contact us with a description and photos and we’ll schedule a visit.
Damage and liability
We treat your home with the same care we’d want in ours, and we carry general liability insurance. If we cause damage during a job, please let us know within 48 hours so we can document it and resolve it promptly, either by repair or by reimbursement of the reasonable cost of repair. Beyond that, our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited under New York law.
Photos of our work
We may photograph or film completed installations for our portfolio and social media, taking care not to show anything that identifies you or your home. If you’d prefer we don’t, just tell us before or during the appointment and we’ll honor it, no questions asked. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
Commercial and office projects
For office, retail, and other commercial projects, these terms apply alongside any written proposal or agreement we sign with you. Where the two differ, the signed agreement controls. Commercial projects may include a deposit, a defined project schedule, and coordination with your building’s management, and we’ll set those details out in the proposal.
Referral partners and promotions
If you booked through a referral partner or with a promotional offer, the offer terms apply to the specific services and dates stated. Promotions can’t be combined unless we say otherwise, and referral credits are applied to the first job only.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your booking is the one that applies to that job. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever we make a change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute that we can’t resolve together will be handled in the courts located in New York County, New York. That said, if something goes wrong, our first preference is always a phone call. We’d much rather fix a problem than argue about it.
